In this entrepreneurial, creative role, you will flex your electronic design and electromechanical muscles to help ideate and develop innovative products. Working hands-on, you will integrate electronic and mechatronic features into innovations that enable style and design customization. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the integration of electronics for current opportunities listed on the products roadmap
  • Create, develop, and realize new product opportunities by understanding and applying electronics and mechatronics to all SRG Global capabilities
  • Lead research activities specific to electronics integration as the organization’s electronics subject matter expert
  • Offer knowledge, perspective, and plans for implementing new developments in engineering, design and electronic technologies
  • Discover and define application opportunities with customers, internal teams and external partners/suppliers
  • Create and integrate electronic devices into new and current innovation projects
  • Drive concept scale-up from bench prototype to commercially available product
  • Design, prototype and test electronic elements and components that enable mass-production
  • Coordinate development activities with internal and external groups, including manufacturing locations and senior leadership
  • Develop transfer packages to support mass production scale-up



  • Knowledge of electrical and electronics design principles and theory, especially as it relates to automotive applications in lighting, capacitive sensing and electromechanical systems
  • Deep knowledge of innovation commercialization processes
  • Understanding of basic cost model creation and the drivers of profitability, specifically contribution margin and return on investment
  • Proven experience identifying and developing electronics technologies into existing product platforms
  • Ability to apply Six Sigma and lean tools in product development applications
  • Success identifying and solving practical problems and defining a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standards
  • Ability to lead electronic design aspects of projects to completion within budget and on time
  • Working knowledge of and experience with automotive DFMEA, PFMEA and APQP process


  • Engineering degree in Electronic, Optoelectronic, Electrical or related field. Advanced degree preferred
  • Three to five years of product-embedded electronics experience, automotive industry preferred
  • Demonstrated strategic planning skills and ability to innovate
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities and ability to make decisions and take action under pressure
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to interact with customers of all levels and functions (including styling, engineering and purchasing)
