The World Headquarters in Troy, Michigan is searching for a Senior Human Resources Generalist to support our Advanced Development Center in Taylor, MI

This position reports to the World Headquarters HR Site Business Partner and executes technical and functional responsibilities related to Health & Safety Compliance as well as advancing our Company MBM culture to attract, motivate, develop and retain a diverse group of employees who have both the virtue and talent consistent with our culture. The candidate shall be aware of the opportunities and challenges facing the company in order to create long term value and ensure the right processes and procedures are followed to support having the right people, in the right roles.

Responsibilities

  • Be a steward of our MBM culture, embracing our capability business operating model as our way of doing business to creating alignment and focus for long-term value creation
  • Strive for recruitment excellence by partnering with hiring managers to determine staffing needs for salaried and contingent positions, selecting appropriate method(s) for recruitment, sourcing candidates, performing onsite interviews and making recommendations during knowledge-sharing sessions
    • Initial focus on contingency recruitment plan development and implementation
    • Maintain relationships with both internal and external clients to ensure staffing goals are achieved
    • Serve as a liaison with area employment agencies, colleges, and industry associations
  • Maximize effective communication of internal opportunities utilizing our internal job board and on-going discussion between supervisors as it relates to employee career development
  • Prepare reports and recommend procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover
  • Interpret and administer Human Resources policies and answer questions regarding procedures and programs
  • Maintain data management to ensure educated decisions are taken to meet our growth needs and provide timely reports on employment activity
    • Support usage of iCIMS and internal HRIS system. Make recommendations of other systems to best support efficiency in processes and change management needs.
  • Support the execution and development of RRE’s, effective Performance Reviews, effective feedback and career development, including communication to leaders in understanding proper development/communication aligned with MBM principles
  • Provide coaching on employee-related issues, performance discussions and administration of progressive disciplinary action

 

Health & Safety

  • Work with ADC leadership and supervisors to plan, implement and maintain a variety of occupational health, safety and environmental programs to assure a safe work environment
  • Provide orientation and training for supervisors and staff on H&S and other HR areas as required
  • Ensure training and corrective action is consistently followed
  • Make recommendations on changes to the Health and Safety program, including policies and procedures, training and reporting. Ensure completion of workplace audits and participate as required.
  • Conduct risk assessments and use data to create preventative measures to remove risks/hazards
  • Develop and implement incident investigations, data analysis, and recurrence prevention programs and procedures using effective problem solving method
  • Review health and safety related incidents and analyze incident data for the purpose of trend identification and development of preventative measures.
  • Provide direction and expertise to immediate Supervisors on health and safety incidents requiring immediate attention, conduct or advise staff on immediate follow up investigations, recommend action and monitor resolution of issues.
  • To always perform work safely and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)

Qualifications

 

Background:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related discipline
  • 5+ years in a Human Resource Generalist role
  • Results oriented person with excellent communication skills, initiative and accountable
  • Knowledge of full life cycle recruiting and experience recruiting all position levels including hourly, salaried, non-exempt and exempt and Leadership positions.
  • Self-motivated to define and drive continuous improvement of processes
