Job Summary: We are seeking a strong individual with the right virtue and talent to join our team.  The HR Generalist supports the SRG Global Portageville Human Resources Department in implementing initiatives that are strategically aligned to the department, the strategy of the plant and the vision of SRG Global.


  • Be a steward of our MBM culture, embracing our capability business operating model as our way of doing business to creating alignment and focus for long-term value creation
  • Strive for recruitment excellence by partnering with hiring managers to determine staffing needs for salaried, hourly and contingent positions; selecting appropriate method(s) for recruitment, sourcing candidates, performing onsite interviews and making recommendations during knowledge-sharing sessions
    • Maintain relationships with both internal and external clients to ensure staffing goals are achieved
    • Serve as a liaison with area employment agencies, colleges, and industry associations
  • Maximize effective communication of internal opportunities utilizing our internal job board and on-going discussion between supervisors as it relates to employee career development
  • Prepare reports and recommend procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover
  • Interpret and administer Human Resources policies and answer questions regarding procedures and programs
  • Support the execution and development of RRE’s, effective Performance Reviews, effective feedback and career development, including communication to leaders in understanding proper development/communication aligned with MBM principles
  • Provide coaching on employee-related issues, performance discussions and administration of progressive disciplinary action 
  • Manage and implement certain corporate Loss Control Programs and participate/lead safety and awareness initiatives.
  • Benefit Administration to include required communication, training and Team Member concerns.
  • Coordinates health and wellness activities
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and has appropriate resources for timely remediation.
  • Participates in new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Ability to analyze and trend facts/data to formulate creative solutions and actions to improve processes, procedures, identify development opportunities or implement new initiatives.
  • Spend time daily/weekly on the plant floor keeping direct lines of communication open with our Team Members.
  • Flexibility to work on the off shifts as needed.
  • This position reports directly to the site Human Resource Manager and will work in tandem with their local counterparts to set and execute specific HR strategies in conjunction with Corporate SRG Human Resources.


Required education and experience:

  • 4 Year Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • 2+ years of HR experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Office software (Word, Outlook, Excel) and HRIS systems.
  • Recruitment, Selection & Placement of Exempt and Non-Exempt positions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of Employee Relations in a Non-Union Manufacturing Environment.
  • Willing to advance in the organization.
  • Effective and Professional Oral and Written Communication Skills.
  • Demonstrated Experience in conducting Training at all levels.

Just an hour south of Cape Girardeau, MO (college town) and an hour and a half north of Memphis, TN, Portageville is in the Missouri Bootheel near the Mighty Mississippi River.  Portageville is surrounded by a lot of history and state parks as well as conservation for hunting and fishing.  Southeast Missouri is also home to many of Missouri’s spring-fed streams and crystal-clear waters which is ideal for nature lovers.  The area provides hiking and river/lake activities as well as camping.
