    Assembly Production Supervisor-3rd shift

     

    Responsibilities

    Purpose: The Assembly Supervisor will have overall responsibility of planning, organizing and coordinating plant assembly activities. This position reports to the Assembly Manager.

     

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Assist Assembly Manager with developing and providing input on assembly requirements needed to determine the total labor and gross margin for a customer’s order
    • Interface with other departments to ensure customer order deadlines are met
    • Create detailed schedule time lines to ensure customer shipment dates and equipment specifications are met
    • Assist Assembly Manager in developing a process plan including people, resources, equipment, and floor space for each customer order
    • Plan flow of materials through department
    • Establish or adjust work procedures in order to meet production schedules

     

    • Develop and implement new and/or improved systems and procedures  
    • Maintain time and production records
    • Estimate, requisition and inspect materials
    • Report machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel
    • Interpret company policies to associates and enforce safety regulations

    Qualifications

     

     

    Qualifications:

    • Qualified candidate will have 3 or more years of experience in production supervision, automotive manufacturing a plus
    • Associate’s degree in related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor’s preferred
    • Proficiency in and the ability to model and implement the following concepts: empowerment and teamwork; kaizen; standardized work; PDCA and problem solving; 5S; quality improvement tools; JIT production tools including: Value Stream Mapping, lead-time reduction, process flow improvement, and Kanban
    • Knowledge of TS-16949
    • Knowledge of and ability to manage department budget costs
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop and sit.
    • Must lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
    • Ability to work in fluctuating temperatures & perform work indoors/outdoors as needed.
