    SRG Global is seeking to find a Color Development Specialist. Information on this position includes:  

     

    Responsibilities

    An ordinary day for a Color Development Specialist:

    Color Development

    • Order and maintain OEM Master paint/finish/coating plaques
    • Coordinate plaque spray-out or application for color assessment by OEM
    • Lead color approval activities with customer
      • Work with supplier to make necessary color adjustments
      • Interface with OEM contact and SRG coating supplier on submission timing 
      • Communicate to SRG facility to assure on-time submission
    • Develop and produce unique SRG Global color/finish Masters
    • Establish and maintain good relationship with OEM contacts in Design Quality and Studio;

     

    Color Validation

    • Coordinate plaque/part spray-out or application for laboratory testing
    • Schedule testing at internal or 3rd-party labs
      • Obtain customer specifications
    • Write test reports
      • Communicate results
      • Schedule retesting as needed
      • Develop and maintain catalog of validated and approved tints or material

    Qualifications

    What do I have that would make me qualified?

    • Knowledge of paint formulation (pigments, hardeners, solvents, resins, dispersants, and wetting agents)
    • Knowledge of typical automotive interior and exterior requirements
    • Experience with other paint/coloring technologies preferred (ink jet, PVD, etc.)
    • Experience with color submissions and surface approvals at OEM customers is highly desired

    • Basic understanding of automotive paint application
    • Good communication skills:  ability to communicate pertinent color information or specifications to applicable SRG Global personnel
